First heard this track on the radio when it was very new and was immediatly intrigued because the announcer mentioned it was to be used in an add campaign for a shoe brand. But because it was a government run station, they couldnt' say which shoes! Such a concept made me think of Nike straight away, and I pictured these guys in some hectic hi-tops. I actually got a bit of a shock when I learned it was actually Converse, as I don't really associate the brand with large scale advertising. Regardless of this Santogold, Julian Casablancas (lead singer of The Strokes) and Pharrell Williams are so incredibly talented and cool as individuals, that once put together they would have had a very hard time making a bad song. To be honest, the track took a few listens to fall in love with it...but now that love is very very firm. Now we just have to patiently wait for Converse to drop the music video which is anticipated to be freaking awesome.
