I'm not much of a Kanye fan...and most definitely do agree with everyone else that his new track Love Lockdown is rubbish. He unveiled it at the recent Mtv VMA's in typical arrogant fashion. Only problem was, no one liked it. So he went back into the studio and "re-mastered" it, but it didn't really make much difference.
It seems like he's been hanging out with his "mates" Daft Punk too much and has decided that if robots can sing, so can he. Well, apparently these days that is sort of true with the help of an "Auto-tune" -which automatically corrects pitch and covers up any mistakes! The result of this is love ballad that literally sounds like it is being sung by a computer. Combine this with the very very minimal use of instruments and all in all this track is really pretty crap.
Although he isn’t by favourite artist of all time, I can respect that his previous stuff off Graduation and College Dropout was pretty good stuff. And so I was actually pretty shocked at the badness that is Love Lockdown. Other, more musically talented (but like-minded) people have clearly agreed, as within days re-mixes that vastly improved the song began to appear. The King has fallen...15 year old kids using Pro-tools in their bedroom can make better music than Kanye West.
