Lily Allen likes to surprise us. She's sorta like the knew Germaine Greer...only doing things if the shock value is enough to score her a place on the front page of the newspaper-be that tabloid or broadsheet it doesn't really matter. I think that's really the main reason I like her. Sure, her music is catchy, fun and has a lazy London twang that makes her sound heaps different. But nothing beats hearing what Lily's up to next. Her most recent scandal was presenting at the GQ awards in Britain with Elton John, getting absolutely trollied and making a total fool of herself. Yes, it was terribly embarrassing. Yes, Elton looked like she may kill her. Yes, the sales of her sophomore album will triple as a direct result of that event. Yes, somehow it makes me love her even more.
The latest song to come off her upcoming album It's Not Me, It's You is about drugs. Illegal, counter top and prescription Everyone's At It and apparently we should just accept it. Let's just say that we should probably take Allen's word for it, as no one is better to report on a situation than someone who is speaking from it's heartland!
